Important Age Gap

Labour Act retirement age: 58 · SSF pension age: 60 — a 2-year gap Under Labour Act 2074, mandatory retirement age is 58 years. But SSF pension only starts at 60 years. This means there is a 2-year gap where you may have retired but cannot yet draw your SSF pension. Plan accordingly. During this gap, your Retirement Fund (lump sum) is available. Retirement Fund Loan (After 3 Years)

Borrow up to 80% of your Retirement Fund balance After 36 consecutive months (3 years) of SSF contributions, you can take a loan against your Retirement Fund balance — up to 80%. Below-market interest rate. Available even while still employed. [Source: SSF Investment Procedure 2077]

EPF to SSF Transition

Existing EPF balance remains at CIT If you had Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) before SSF: your existing EPF balance stays at CIT (Citizens Investment Trust) and continues to earn interest there. You are NOT required to transfer it to SSF. New contributions from your employer go to SSF only. You may optionally transfer your EPF loans to SSF. [Source: Social Security Act 2074]
